Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Consumer Products, the Vice President, International Licensing is responsible for driving the strategy and execution activities to grow WWE's licensing business within EMEA, Mexico, Latin America, Germany, India, APAC and emerging markets. The successful candidate will bring an innovative and energetic approach to expanding current relationships, and identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities which enhance the WWE brand and add to the top- and bottom-lines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the strategic development, direction, and implementation of consumer products licensing across all international markets
• Develop and improve the international licensing strategy by creating product lift for the current product mix while identifying new product opportunities and/or service offerings in line with the demographic profiles of WWE's target constituencies
• Continually refine the consumer product function of WWE through best practices implementation and by ensuring high quality financial, administrative and operational controls are in place to support current business levels and future growth
• Conceptualize and develop new products: identify product voids, capitalize on current marketplace trends, set revenue and branding goals, secure licensees, and ensure optimal performance
• Negotiate contract terms for all licensing deals, including product specifications, minimum royalty guarantees, pricing, cost, revenue splits and mandatory advertising and promotional expenditures
• Create and manage the overall budget for the department, delivering on revenue goals, product launches, solidifying new licensee agreements and overseeing production and distribution of WWE products into the marketplace
• Assess and report on business performance through rigorous financial analysis
• Establish strong working relationships with senior line management, providing a strategic voice and partnership in overall company initiatives
• Provide strong leadership in the selection, development, motivation and retention of a high-performing, world-class international licensing team
Requirements:
• 10 years of experience leading licensing teams (5 years in international licensing) within well-respected media/entertainment companies and within a matrix reporting environment
• Experience and/or exposure to an array of consumer categories including television, consumer goods, apparel, family entertainment, publishing, home entertainment, digital and interactive entertainment space in addition to more traditional hard goods products and distribution
• Proven track record of business development utilizing an intellectual property licensing and brand extension model across an array of platforms, media and retail/e-commerce outlets
• Track record of expanding into new markets and growing revenues within established markets.
• Strong merchandising and product orientation; has worked extensively with the retail trade to develop comprehensive and innovative programs to extend multiple brands
• Strong financial acumen (specific attention to profit and sustainability) and a track record of leveraging data/analytics to build consensus and make decisions
• Able to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while leading multiple activities
• Strong analytical skills and able to synthesize data from multiple internal and external sources and translate information into effective and actionable business plans
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
• Effective leader with strong managerial skills
• Bachelor Degree required, MBA preferred
• Bi-lingual proficiency preferred
