Full Time Job
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership
• Work extensively with WWE executive management, business unit representatives, data stewards, and technology stakeholders to define and guide implementation of a strategic master metadata vision
• The vision and subsequent plan must be inclusive of and informed by corporate strategic priorities, internal/external user needs and expectations, and adhere to industry best practices
• Design and execute strategy to achieve optimized level of process efficiency and end-user experience through standard master metadata measures and metrics
Collaboration & Governance
• Lead a governance council to build a data governance framework that is inclusive of stakeholder and user needs across WWE
• In collaboration with governance council, define standards for quality, accessibility, and availability of metadata
• Implement a communication strategy and process to review metrics, track milestones, report issues, and update key stakeholders and executives on program status
Data management, quality, and standards
• Develop, administer, monitor, and manage evolution of data quality rules and procedures for the management of metadata across the WWE enterprise
• Oversee standards for maintenance of metadata, including data governance ownership and design of systems of record
• Direct continuous improvement of data management practices to ensure that data resources are integrated, understandable, accessible, and secure
• Track and improve data quality across WWE and ensure the trustworthiness of enterprise metadata for defined business needs
• Act as an advocate for data quality standards
• Manage and support data documentation, including clear guidelines for data collection and annotation, as well as for audit and process control
Development, implementation, and management of new enterprise taxonomy and metadata initiative
• Lead development, normalization, and maintenance of enterprise data concepts, taxonomy, terms and definitions
• Coordinate evolving business requirements for metadata standards related to searching and using related assets
• Creation of new metadata models as part of master data management business requirements gathering and implementation
• Ensure that the taxonomies and metadata meet needs and expectations of internal/external WWE users
• Develop and communicate new business rules and data dictionaries
• Develop data conversion plans and oversee execution of the conversion
Management of team
• Lead and manage the team responsible for multiple internal data management or operations projects, as well as day-to-day data related work
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of 7 years metadata / data management experience
• BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, Library Science, Business Management or other related area required
• MBA or advanced degree preferred
• Superior written and verbal communication skills with C-level executives
• Ability to seamlessly distill complex technical matters into plain English takeaways for non-SMEs at all levels of the company
• Experience initiating and leading enterprise data management and governance initiatives and processes based on adapting, converting, or replacing legacy systems
• Experience in the development of master data management (MDM) solutions
• Experience with logical, physical and dimensional data modeling, specific to: creating and implementing metadata schemas and models
• Experience with the development and management of taxonomies, formal ontologies, and other types of controlled vocabularies to support business workflows
• Experience with database design, data modeling, data engineering
• Familiarity with data warehousing, big data, and data analytics
• Familiarity with data management vendor solutions, and data management standards, tools and technologies (e.g. SQL, NoSQL, XML, RDF, etc.)
• Excellent project management skills; track record of successfully launching and managing complex initiatives
• Knowledge of industry metadata standards, including: EIDR, CableLabs, EBUCore, PBCore, etc.
• Knowledge of media and entertainment supply chain business processes
• Experience working with product development teams and data scientists to integrate new taxonomies into products and analytics
• Experience with cloud-based technologies a plus
