WWE is seeking a highly polished, seasoned and distinct leader to manage Corporate Communications initiatives at the WWE Headquarters in Stamford, CT. Reporting to the EVP, Marketing & Communications, this role will be responsible for the development and execution of Public Relations, internal and external communications initiatives. As a senior leader within the WWE Marketing & Communications team, this position will support marketing initiatives and branding programs across a wide range of channels while working with local, national, and international players.
The Vice President, Corporate Communications will bring confidence and leadership to the organization while recognizing an appreciation for the prominence of WWE's product.
Responsibilities
Communications
• Develop and implement a strategic communications plan to advance WWE's brand identity; broaden awareness of its programs and priorities; and increase the visibility of its programs across key stakeholder audiences
• Exercise judgment to prioritize media opportunities, and prepare talking points, speeches, presentations and other supporting material as needed
• Serve as a spokesperson and lead point person on media interactions that help promote and/or impact the organization
• Develop internal communications to ensure relevant business information and updates cascades throughout WWE's global employee population
• Work with Sr. Executives in coordinating the messaging and engagement with critical associations and organizations.
Public Relations
• Create public relations strategy that will allow WWE to cultivate and enhance meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external audiences, including the media and key influencers
• Utilize and introduce state of the art PR strategies and tactics that leverage the power of digital/social marketing
• Identify challenges and emerging issues faced by the organization. Work with leadership team and staff to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and solutions, and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them
• Support the Chief Brand Officer to drive ''brand heat and empowerment'' of the WWE brand through consistent and clear messaging
Marketing
• Identify and drive key opportunities to engage, cultivate and manage press relationships to ensure coverage surrounding WWE programs, special events, public announcements, and other projects
• Develop pitch ideas to achieve maximum press coverage
• Analyze and track market trends in regards to PR and new promotional launches
• Travel on various WWE marketing and PR engagements and ensure all event logistics are coordinated in an organized and efficient manner
• Assist in identifying, developing and implementing innovative services and programs that will enhance the value of our Corporate Brand.
• Establish and implement strategies that will influence the perception of our WWE's product with influential individuals and organizations in the public, private and non-profit sectors.
Leadership
• Lead a team of marketing, communications, and publicity professionals globally
• Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and administer salary adjustments
Qualifications
• 15-20 years of experience in Marketing, Corporate Communications, and PR within entertainment and sports entertainment industries
• Solid understanding of the digital/technology landscape including industry trends, key players, terminology and overall knowledge of the sports entertainment and media landscape
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including creative approaches to internal and external marketing and communications platforms
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent project management skills
• Ability to work well with multiple stakeholders across company, agency and client organizations
• Organizational leadership with a collaborative management style that excels in building ideas and consensus
• Must be on the cutting edge of trends
• A ''can-do'' attitude, positivity and high energy
• BS/BA required, Master's Degree preferred
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
• Must be flexible with working nights, weekends, and holidays
• Identify larger opportunities and lay out high level achievement plans
• Strong process orientation, and ability to apply process to achieve leverage across organization
• Must fit into WWE culture; outside the box thinker, sense of humility, flexible, adaptable to changing conditions, and be an excellent team player.
