Full Time Job
Reporting to the Director of Media Operations, the Software Engineer will work with WWE's Digital team and other stakeholders to create web applications in regards to video processes and metadata. This person will be a developer for front and back-end software engineering using the Laravel based framework. S/he will work closely with other team members to identify gaps and vet designs for feasibility, and write clean, maintainable, production-ready code.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the lead technical developer for WWE's Video Management System and other Laravel/PHP based 'systems'
• Hands-on coding with peer-reviews is approximately 70% of the role and technical strategy is approximately 30%
• Work closely with product management, project management, video teams, and other technology team members to create and maintain digital products
• Work closely with QA and operations team members to ensure product quality, scalability, and performance
• Review and recommend emerging technologies as appropriate to support ongoing and future development efforts
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, product and project managers, other developers, and support personnel throughout product life-cycles
Qualifications:
• 5 years of PHP, MySQL, and Javascript frameworks like JQuery, AngularJS, etc.
• 3 years of Laravel framework development
• Experience in creation and parsing of REST and JSON
• Good understanding of Video Metadata, FFMPEG, FFProbe, and MediaInfo
• Excellent JS/HTML/CSS skills
• Experience with a version control system (Git preferred) and continuous integration (e.g., Jenkins)
• Advanced knowledge of SDLC; Agile Scrum preferred
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to product quality
• Able to work overtime, including nights and weekends as needed to support business needs
• Highly collaborative team player who functions well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related technical field of study preferred
