OVERVIEW
The Senior Vice President, Production creatively administers the production of all WWE Network original programming. This executive supervises current production on all WWE Channel programming including in-ring shows, radio shows, and reality programming. This executive also works internally with a variety of departments to facilitate the scheduling, promotion, and broadcasting of all programming.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Manage all day-to-day live-event operations, including the hiring, scheduling, and training of production and technical staff.
* Manage and lead major live-event coordination, including all remote studio operations, video playback, music call sheets, etc. Serve as the key liaison between remote, studio, and broadcast operations.
* Ensure all programming is produced within the prescribed budgetary parameters, delivered on schedule, and to required standard.
* Assess the Network's technology needs and determine the capital budgeting for the purchase of new equipment.
* Spearhead the creative administrative process for WWE programming from story approval to reviewing scripts of proposed episodes through review of final taped/filmed episode.
* Represent the network in all ongoing creative discussions with current series producers.
* Approve story concepts, and attend run-throughs and tapings for the purpose of representing the company in creative discussions with on-air series producers.
* Advise the EVP of Television Production, EVP of Programming, and the VP of Scheduling & Research on the scheduling of episodes and contribute ideas and concepts for theme weeks, stunts, and Sweeps episodes.
* Regularly communicate creative developments of current programs to a variety of departments including Casting, Research, On-Air Promotion, Publicity, Business Affairs, Legal, Program Administration, and Network Sales.
* On an on-going basis, the Vice President will maintain his or her already-established relationships with talent & literary agents and managers to add to his or her already-established list of writing and directing talent, read sample scripts, view directing sample tapes, and maintain a log of reviewed materials for the staffing of all series.
* The Vice President is also expected to monitor and keep current with creative trends by keeping abreast of competitive series, current movies, and general industry information.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Minimum of seven years television/entertainment industry experience.
* Working knowledge of traditional and new media production, including studio-based, remote, and live production for television, online, mobile, and social media platforms.
* Strong relationships within the production community. Able to quickly identify key production talent.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively hire, schedule, and train production and on-air promotions staff as needed.
* Deep, comprehensive technical understanding of existing and emerging production and distribution technologies, including hardware and software.
* Working knowledge of industry practices, talent representatives, and industry executives.
* Experience as a creative production executive for a studio, television network, cable service, or entertainment based internet service/site or related industry is desirable.
* Excellent creative skills with ability to convey thoughts in a clear and concise manner (may be asked to provide story/script notes).
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Able to handle difficult situations and personalities with diplomacy.
* Able to work independently with initiative, and also as part of a team.
