Senior Director, International Digital Operations (UK)
Overview:
This position will explore, develop and recommend strategies around international digital business lines and interpret digital product lifecycles and distribution strategies. This function provides research, analysis and planning within an opportunistic, transactional-based business environment.
This dynamic role requires someone who can bring international operations planning experience, strong capabilities to drive and implement business requirements and an ability to synthesize complex data models. The ideal candidate will drive international digital operations by leading objective, in-depth analyses and recommendations on potential growth strategies.
Responsibilities:
• Develop deep intelligence and business model expertise in the digital, display, video, mobile and social sectors.
• Work closely with the business unit leaders (in market General Managers) to develop a comprehensive digital sales, acquisition and partnership framework to guide areas of focus and opportunity.
• Build a pipeline of strategic digital opportunities through developing a network of the key players in the industry from which to source potential transactions.
• Develop International digital operations strategy, including expansion of international business, full evaluations of occupied markets, and considerations of various possible means to access new markets determined to be of interest. In such cases, the pros and cons – from both an economic return and operational perspective – of direct expansion, joint venture, acquisition or other strategic partnership should all be considered.
• Coordinate internal resources in execution of operation plans, outlining resource allocation, budgetary considerations and executional timeframes of delivery.
• Build strategic and operations plans for international ad sales addressing technology execution, sales mix, pricing and deal negotiations.
• Prepare detailed digital business cases and recommendations to General Managers and Senior Digital leadership.
• Lead some aspects of digital deal execution including research of targets, strategic and financial assessment, transaction structuring, negotiation, and due diligence.
• Provide business development support to global business units in areas of deal evaluation, structuring, and negotiations.
• Participate in short and long term strategic digital planning process.
Qualifications:
• 7-10 years experience in the digital media space and thorough understanding of competitive landscape and global business environment impacting the display, video, mobile, social advertising ecosystem.
• Excellent project management and organization skills with the ability to seamlessly multi-task and lead multiple high-priority, time-sensitive initiatives in parallel.
• Expertise in developing business and investment cases, financial analysis and modeling, understanding of legal agreements and creating presentations.
• Strong experience analyzing and presenting all relevant market, industry, and company factors to support proactively identifying targets and priorities.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the experience and ability to effectively influence at all levels both internally and externally.
• Ability to contribute to high level strategy in addition to being a master of details and process when needed.
• Track record of success in a fast-paced and extremely dynamic environment with ability to be self-sufficient, proactive and handle uncertainty and ambiguity.
• Corporate in-house deal experience outside of the professional services context required.
• Experience working in a global or multi-national business is desired.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in M&A-focused strategic consulting, investment banking, private equity or corporate development environments.
• MBA, JD or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
