World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Corporate Communications professional to join our Communications team.
The position will be based in our Stamford headquarters. The position will involve working with our Communications team to develop and execute communications plans and programs to enhance the visibility of the WWE brand, businesses, products and talent in print, TV, film, radio, digital, and trade outlets. Specific business areas this role supports include Consumer Products, Corporate Social Responsibility, Sales and Sponsorship. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Corporate Communications.
Responsibilities:
* Write press releases, pitches and media alerts to trade, business and consumer media.
* Maintain and build upon solid entertainment, sports, business and trade contacts at national and regional broadcast, print and online media outlets.
* Work with in-house team members and outside strategic partners to develop, implement and manage internal and external communications to broaden exposure of WWE’s brand.
* Organize and coordinate national and local level press events and public appearances for CSR initiatives.
* Create and execute effective PR plans to support the Consumer Products and Sales and Sponsorship teams.
* Work with in-house team members and outside agencies and contacts to develop, implement and manage internal and external communications to broaden exposure of all WWE businesses.
* Build relationships and work daily with WWE television partners.
* Play integral role in crisis communication efforts including on-call responsibilities and special project initiatives.
* Actively seek ''out of the box'' opportunities to develop new publicity opportunities for WWE.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 5-7 years experience in corporate communications at a media/sports/entertainment company
* Established media contacts in both national and regional print, television, radio and online media outlets
* Knowledge of media, both national and local, including print, TV, film, radio, digital and mobile platforms
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Significant experience with digital and social media platforms
* Demonstrated ability to work well with management, both within and outside the company
* Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
* Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CisionPoint, and Outlook
* Able to travel as needed (25% anticipated)
* Bachelor degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or related field of study preferred
