Full Time Job
Reporting to the President of International, WWE is seeking to hire the SVP and head of International Content Distribution (CMD) based at its headquarters in Stamford, CT and NYC office in Midtown. This senior executive will be responsible for the growth and management of WWE's international distribution business with the primary focus on television (free and pay), OTT, and new platform partnerships. This leader will be a key member of WWE's international leadership team and oversee a distribution, affiliate relations and licensing group with members in Stamford, CT and regional international offices. While the role will have significant travel (~20%), there is also a clear expectation that this leader will be a strong voice for international by providing a deep connection to the executive team in the US.
Responsibilities
• Work closely with EVP of International, local market General Managers (Mexico/LATAM, UK, Europe, Middle East, India, APAC, Japan), and SVP of International Operations to create go-to market strategies (including financial targets, other KPIs) for CMD,.
• Collaborate with other lines of businesses including Digital, Consumer Products and Live Events to drive 360° approach to brand growth.
• Lead media distribution deal negotiations across all international markets
• Manage international media partner relationships, including Affiliate Relations, and work closely with Marketing and regional offices to support all aspects of WWE's media partnerships
• Drive distribution growth in mature and emerging markets, with view to optimizing and balancing revenue, reach, and brand-impact
• Responsibility of WWE's international licensing budget. Develop and execute annual revenue budget.
• Manage regular reporting of CMD progress to senior management, including TV ratings, performance, sales, reach, and other corporate objectives.
• Work with Legal and Business Affairs to provide framework for negotiations and closely steward deals from initial agreement through contract execution
• Monitor the media marketplace to stay current with international market trends and pro-actively drive tactics to maximize brand value
• Integrate and synergize CMD business with overall WWE commercial goals
• Lead, manage, coach and develop a high performing team in the US and across international markets
• Liaise with broadcast partners and WWE TV production team to monitor and expand localization and customization of WWE programming internationally.
Qualifications
• Be a successful and proven executive with industry experience in international Sports and Entertainment TV licensing, having held a similar role with another global multi-media company
• Bring deep knowledge and contacts in international television and content media distribution
• Have a track record of global experience which is critical to this role as the organization continues to expand into new markets (ideally direct experience in Asia and/or EMEA which is currently the most established region)
• Have solid understanding of international market opportunities; specifically a good sense of the countries with the best potential for growth, and adoption of the product – and the ability to determine what regions are not delivering ROI
• Have strong financial skills-critical that deals are developed with profitability and sustainability in mind
• Strong understanding of both traditional and new media (OTT) platforms/technology worldwide.
• Ability to think strategically and structurally, while serving as an inspirational and motivating manager of people
• Effective in leading dispersed global teams, establishing metrics and branding consistency globally, but also understands the nuances of different cultures
• Exceptional ability in defining content value and competitive content valuations
• Excellent negotiation skills; ability to manage complex negotiations and achieve win-win in seemingly impossible situations
• Skilled at multi-tasking, prioritizing and thriving in a fast-paced environment
• Strong experience interacting with and presenting to senior executives, as well as the ability to work with senior leaders – ability to quickly establish oneself as credible with Executive Management
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
• Must be flexible with working nights, weekends, and holidays
• Bilingual skills preferred
• BA Degree required, Master's Degree preferred
