Full Time Job
Reporting to the Vice President of Media Technology, the Senior Manager, Digital Media Streaming & Operations is a key member of the Media Technology team responsible for monitoring, tracking, and driving quality improvement of Video delivery across WWE's digital platforms, as well as tracking digital performance metrics. The ideal candidate has a background in video encoding and knowledge of various live media delivery protocols and video player technologies. Our environment is dynamic, fast-paced, and lots of fun!
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as operational lead for day-to-day and Live Event streaming quality and digital performance metrics, which includes frequent evening and weekend working times
• Monitor and escalate streaming performance and other technical issues as appropriate
• Track performance and drive improvements for video quality across all platforms
• Lead Live WWE Network streaming operations for all Live Events
• Collaborate with product, technical, and operational teams to determine business and technical requirements for new product delivery as it pertains to video streaming and delivery
• Review and recommend emerging technologies as appropriate to support ongoing and future development efforts for WWE's OTT and VOD delivery
• Assist in deployment and daily management of live encoding appliances
• Assist in active monitoring of live encoding appliances during marquee events
Qualifications:
• 5 years of relevant professional experience in target-date driven environments
• Understanding of RTMP, RTSP, HTTP Live Streaming delivery
• Familiar with video delivery over the leading content distribution networks (e.g., Akamai, Level3, etc.)
• Experience configuring and operating video encoders (e.g., Elemental)
• Understanding of media formats on mobile, tablet, desktop, and OTT devices
• Working knowledge of various platforms for media playback (Web, SmartTVs, AppleTV, Roku, iOS, Android, Game Consoles)
• Knowledge of video codecs and compression, specifically H.264
• Knowledge of IP protocols (http, TS via multicast, rtmp, rtsp)
• Working knowledge of broadcast transmission and video encoding
• Experience delivering projects of technical complexity
• Knowledge of connected device, OTT, or video streaming technology
• Working knowledge of video players (Brightcove, JW Player, Adobe Primetime, etc.)
• Knowledge of SDLC; Agile Scrum preferred
• Able to quickly identify and resolve issues in a live production environment
• Able to work overtime including evenings and weekends as needed to support the business
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Attention to detail and a commitment to product quality
• Highly collaborative team player that thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
• Managerial/supervisory experience preferred
• BS/BA degree in a relevant field preferred
