Under the direction of the Manager of Post Production Engineering, you will provide mission critical technical support for upgrades, expansions, system administration, maintenance and failure recovery for the Production and Networking systems that comprise the WWE Networks Digital Media facility in Stamford, CT.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Has strong knowledge and understanding of in-house software solutions for content creation, manipulation, encoding/transcoding and distribution
• Responsible for specification, design, development and implementation of solutions for engineering or production requests that result in modifications, additions and enhancements to WWE Network's non-linear edit systems, storage solutions, file acquisition, file transcode, file transfer and media asset management systems
• Works with external providers to resolve technical and workflow issues with provided equipment and systems.
• Implementation of a routine preventative maintenance program, including software and hardware updates.
• Will operate daily within both the Production and Networking realms to ensure efficient operation of the facility.
• Proficient at communicating both problems and solutions to technical and non-technical personnel alike and will help develop new processes, technologies and techniques which will help to improve the running of the facility.
• Work on projects or other tasks as assigned by the Manager of Post Production Engineering
Desired Skills and Experience:
• BS in Engineering/Computer Science and 3 years of experience supporting Broadcast/Production systems.
• Strong understanding of Apple OS X, Microsoft Windows 7 and Server Operating Systems.
• Experience and understanding of computer networks, including hardware, protocols and firewalls in a production environment.
• Experience with broadcast/production equipment including tape machines, displays, a/v routers, rasterizers, and other peripherals
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule in support of a 24x7 operation
• Experience and understanding of data transfer acceleration applications such as Aspera, Signiant and SFTP.
• Must have strong technical skills and be self-motivated/resourceful to continually grow core competency.
• Familiarity with IP addressing, file and directory permissions and networking concepts and terminology
• Must have excellent documentation and communication skills to facilitate effective results with staff and technology providers.
