The Head of International Touring position can be based in London, Munich, or Stamford and will report directly to the VP, Live Events Business Development. This role will oversee all International touring initiatives, research and devise new International touring markets while securing and maintaining venue and promoter relationships, negotiate all International event engagements, work cohesively with International General Managers, develop entry strategies for Live Events into new markets, establish key business partnerships internally & externally as well as implement best practices for the unit.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop & maintain market data and Intel in the form of market snapshots along with a list of primary business partners in each market and the deal terms currently in place. Snapshot should include venue information, ticket selling platform, specific market buying trends, WWE history in market, ticket prices and peer benchmark pricing as well as contract terms.
• Utilize relationships with international venues and key industry partners to proactively secure venues for live events and international tours.
• Establish, grow and evolve venue relationships within targeted markets.
• Create touring schedule by strategically selecting markets through relationships, data, historical performance and timing.
• Bring global market insights around touring initiatives and act as subject matter expert on when and where to go to market. Have an in-depth understanding of market demographics across all key markets.
• Make recommendation on specific touring locations for major events.
• Determine the profitability of each venue and negotiate/renegotiate to maximize profitability.
• Partner with Special Events on recommendations for higher profile, bid driven events such as WrestleMania, Summer Slam and Royal Rumble.
• Manage market P & L for each event/tours.
• Partner across all WWE functional business lines to ensure the Live Event Tour business is properly aligned.
• Build and manage Executive level plans for Live Event business; present plans to senior management.
• Manage Live Event booking/touring team.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 10 years International Live Event Touring experience
• Existing history of excellent contacts and good working relationships with international representatives in the live entertainment industry
• Strong proven track record in devising profitable global event tours
• Knowledge of current International venue landscape
• Experience working in international markets and an understanding of cultural dynamics
• Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills
• Extensive knowledge of domestic and international markets
• Bachelor's degree required
• Bilingual skills preferred
• Must be flexible with working nights, weekends, and holidays
• Significant international travel will also be required for the position
