Overview:
Based in WWE's Singapore office, the Consumer Products Director will participate in the day-to-day activities to create and manage the vision and strategic direction of the APAC regional Consumer Products interests of the company. The Director will collaborate on the region’s business plans to ensure WWE's Consumer Products business efforts are strategically coordinated to maximize growth and revenues. This role will involve a close day-to-day working relationship with key WWE Licensing Agents and Licensees in the APAC region.
Responsibilities:
• Develop local APAC country specific relationships with key Licensing Agents to manage the WWE merchandise business with key licensees across the Toy, Apparel, Home Entertainment, Video games and other key categories
• Determine the strategic direction and growth opportunities for the Consumer Products business by country
• Develop and manage strong Retail partner relationships across multiple buying categories and Retail channels
• Secure cross-category retail promotions and drive strategic retail partnerships by aligning with the leading retailers that offer cross-category support
• Support WWE magazine publication distribution efforts in the market
• Assist licensee partners with identifying revenue prospects and managing their day-to-day activities
• Continually pitch FMCG brands and media/promotional agencies with WWE brand updates to help secure consumer promotional licensing opportunities
• Research and compile reports on competitive forces
• Develop proactive strategies to counteract competitive properties at retail
• Oversee management of regional licensing agents, soliciting new agent agreements in untapped territories where WWE has international TV presence
• Develop marketing and promotional plans with colleagues in the APAC region
• Assist with planning international personal appearances for WWE Talent
• Capitalize on tour schedule and work with retail and agents on how best to use Talent to drive product sales
• Develop and implement sales and marketing plans that assist licensees in growing market share (with agents if applicable)
• Forecast royalty and sales revenue on a quarterly basis for budget with input from agents and licensees
• Analyze and prepare commentary on variances (budget to forecast, forecast to prior year, etc.)
• Monitor and report cultural trends, local anomalies and current events, as well as provide up to date and relevant information in respect to licensing and retail
• Synergize with all other lines of businesses and functions (Content, Digital, Live Events, Marketing, etc.)
Qualifications:
• 5 years of experience with APAC Consumer Products licensing at Manager/Senior Manager/Director level
• An in-depth knowledge of the APAC market
• Work experience with a Top Five global licensor is a plus
• Strong retailer contacts and relationships in the APAC market
• Able to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment while bringing strong relationship-building
• Besides an excellent command of English also have fluency in Japanese and/or Mandarin
• Existing legal authorization to live and work in Singapore
• Very strong communications and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Bachelor degree
• Willing and able to travel approximately 30% of the time as needed (primarily within the APAC region)
