Full Time Job
The Copy Editor is responsible for working with the editorial, social, video, design, and production teams to prepare content for WWE's digital and social platforms. This role must ensure accuracy in spelling, grammar, punctuation, tone, and style selected by WWE, with the ultimate objective of improving readability and consistency of digital content across all platforms. THIS IS A CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Review and edit all copy for new and existing content on WWE's key digital platforms - WWE.com and the WWE App - including articles, photo galleries, videos, homepages/homescreens, mock-ups, and marketing elements, as assigned
• Work with social media and video producers to monitor posts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and other platforms
• Assist in coordinating flow of content between internal teams and business units as needed
• Deliver copy according to schedules while maintaining consistency with regard to WWE's style and edge
• Maintain and enforce WWE style guide across digital and social teams
• Make stylistic and/or editorial recommendations to improve quality and precision of written content
• Other editorial and/or production duties as assigned
Overall Requirements:
• BA/BS in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Communications or similar concentration
• 3-5 years experience copy editing for content-based websites and social platforms
• Mastery of AP Style
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-based, ever-changing environment
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively across various levels of the organization
• Familiarly with and appreciation for WWE and the entertainment industry
• Working in Windows-based environments
• Knowledge of content management systems (notably Drupal) a plus; ability to learn and use various online content publication and project tracking tools
• Very flexible schedule is essential; must be available for late evening hours, weekends and occasional holidays
