WWE.com is looking for an energetic and motivated Assistant Photo Editor to join our growing Digital Media department. The Assistant Photo Editor is responsible for producing photo content for a team of designers and content editors for WWE.com and other digital projects. Responsibilities include researching, editing and cropping photos, acquiring hi-res files, following rights and approval procedures, as well as siloing and retouching. To be successful in this role, you must thrive in a fast-paced environment, be able to work autonomously and be a succinct communicator. The ability to tell stories through image selection and gallery pacing is important. The ideal candidate has 2 years experience in the photo industry and a good understanding of photo production, digital asset management and workflow. We are seeking a problem-solver with strong organizational skills and a positive attitude.
This position will be based in our Stamford, CT office, but will also require some days in our NYC office.
Key Responsibilities:
• Edit, retouch, color correct, organize and resize images during live broadcast
• Research, retouch, color correct and resize hundreds of photos per week for web galleries and articles
• Capacity to a handle high volume of requests for multiple people and departments simultaneously
• Ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed to address breaking news
• Skill and enthusiasm for working in a fast paced environment
• Follow a detailed photographic style guide
• Acquire images from the WWE slide and digital archives
• Research, purchase and track stock imagery
• Maintain the web asset archive
• Perform and/or coordinate other special project work as requested
• Learn WWE history and keep current with all WWE TV programs
• Deadline-oriented with strong time management skills
• Capable of taking direction and learning systems quickly and adeptly
• Uphold the visual standards set by the Photography and Creative Directors
• Willing and able to work nights and weekends, and be on-call as needed in the schedule
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or working equivalent
• Technically proficient in processing, retouching, and color correcting images
• 2 years of professional experience in a photo department
• Knowledge of optimizing images for web
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Extensive experience in Photoshop
• Familiarity with WWE and the ability to shoot is a plus
