The Freelance Writer/Producer/Editor for WGN America in our NY OFFICE, will develop and produce impactful, compelling promos and sales integration vignettes and campaigns. Please note that this position is for 3 months, starting 9/2 - end of November.
Responsibilities:
1. Write, Produce and edit on-air promos spots, Integrated Sales campaigns, and internal sizzle reel
2. Utilize strong, high-level conceptual thinking to create work that can be campaignable across many mediums (on-air, print, digital, etc.)
3. Collaborate across disciplines, ie: design, media, digital departments, etc.
4. Work independently as well as with the team to create compelling and on point creative that integrates our brand and the client's needs.
5. Be proficient of post-production process and tools including editing, graphics, shoot/photography advancements in order to see a project to completion
6. Work within tight deadlines and quick turnarounds.
Requirements Include:
* 5+ years of on air Cable TV experience.
* Ability to multi task and juggle more than one project at a time
* Experience writing humorous and/or clever copy for commercials, radio, and billboards.
* Team Player! Copywriter will be working with editors, designers, and other writer/producers to bring projects to fruition.
* There is no such thing as a small assignment. There are a wide range of projects that will require special care, all varying in scope and deadlines.
* Have a fundamental understanding of brand positioning and how it drives creative direction.
* Proficiency in Final Cut and After Effects or similar post production equipment
