The Director of Marketing is primarily responsible for strategy, consultation and implementation of WGN America's Consumer Marketing media initiatives with an emphasis on digital and social media. Applicants should have a minimum of 6-8 years working in media with at least 3 years of team management. In addition, applicants should have strong working relationships with national media buying, planning & creative agencies, well-rounded integrated marketing experience on developing and implementing national multi-media campaigns. Undergraduate degree with related course work required; masters preferred. Responsibilities include:
• Working closely with the EVP, Marketing & Promotions on Consumer Marketing strategies for the network, original programming & acquisitions.
• Ownership of network's social media strategy, agency relationships, Twitter/Facebook/Tumblr relationships, and day-to-day content execution.
• Primary project manager for wgnamerica com. Includes coordination of internal constituents, creative team, show production and digital content/media agencies.
• Position requires firm grasp of the digital & social marketing landscape and latest innovations in the space.
• Manage VOD and SVOD distribution relationships and coordinate internal and external constituents to provide episodes and content in a timely manner.
• Liaison with Affiliate Sales & Marketing team. Manage affiliate marketing strategies, announcements and disputes. Assist on creative presentation preparation. Knowledge of the affiliate market industry preferred.
• Collaboration with VP, Ad Sales Marketing to ensure brand connectivity and consistencies on all ad sales driven marketing initiatives.
• Ability & experience managing a multi-million dollar media buying budget.
• Manage a small team of within a fast paced results oriented environment.
• An energetic team player with the ability to be flexible and ''wear many hats'' a must.
