Overview:
The Senior Project Manager oversees one or more projects within an ongoing strategic program including planning, organizing, and controlling program activities. This role will report to the head of the Program (Senior Director, Program Management). The strategic programs use a globally diverse development team, with 80% outsourcing to 3rd party vendors including a near-shore development center in Argentina. The development framework utilized by Vubiquity is a Distributed Agile delivery framework with a full team of scrum masters, so it is the job of the project manager to create and manage project status within an integrated project plan. Additionally, the project manager will ensure that operational readiness plans are developed to enable effective changes to the production environment. The Senior Project Manager will interact regularly with the Program Sponsors, the Program Steering committees, and Project Team Members.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Project Manager will perform a wide range of project management-related duties including some or all of the following:
Plan
•Plan the delivery of the overall project, or set of projects, and the related activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the program
•Develop new processes in support of the efficient management and reporting of the project(s)
•Manage the project plan, including tasks, activities, risks, issues, and action items
•Provide weekly and ad hoc reporting on the project status as it relates to the overall program
•Facilitate the analysis, acquisition, and validation of the procurement of goods and services on behalf of the project
Organize
•Ensure that project activities operate within the policies and procedures of the program
•Ensure that project activities comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards
•Manage the creation of forms and records to document project activities in line with program expectations
•Insure that correct policies and procedure are in place to manage tracking and execution and administration of third-party statements of work
Lead
•Ensure all staff members receive orientation and appropriate training in accordance with organizational standards and program requirements
•Supervise project team member progress by providing direction, input and feedback
•Liaise with other managers to ensure the effective and efficient project delivery
Control
•Communicate regularly with the program manager and the program steering committee
•Ensure that all project(s) work are approved work against the overall program plan
•Track major milestones, dependencies, and deliverables - with agreed upon phase-gating Entry/Exit criteria
•Ensure that the project(s) operate within the approved budget
•Ensure that all budgeted or unbudgeted project expenditures are identified and tracked
•Ensure that all financial records for the projects are up to date
•Provide required information to have invoices generated and submitted according to the established timelines
•Identify and evaluate the risks associated with project activities and take appropriate action to control the risks

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
•Knowledge of project management
•Knowledge of Agile software development practices
•Knowledge of client groups and/or issues related to the project areas
•Knowledge and experience with key technology domains (cloud-based infrastructure and networking, enterprise service bus, hierarchical storage management, enterprise application development) a plus
•Media Service experience a plus
Proficiency in the use of computers:
•MS Project
