Overview:
The Director of Analytics & Business Intelligence is responsible for establishing and implementing the overall BI strategy across the organization with a strong focus on data analysis, data mining, reporting and advanced visualizations across disparate data environments including big data platforms.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement the overall analytics and business intelligence strategy
• Collaborate with cross-departmental teams (Marketing, Product, Operations, and Finance) to develop a cohesive and comprehensive understanding of the key drivers of the business.
• Lead the design and implementation of all analytical projects, ensuring that these solutions align with the organization's strategic direction and technology standards
• Discover and implement statistical models optimize business processes, and continuously identify new opportunities to leverage analytics to improve our ongoing marketing and product operations and develop new revenue drivers and cost savings.
• Work with the Technology teams to deliver a stable and highly available reporting platforms
• Evaluate, recommend, implement and maintain reporting and analytical tools
• Oversee ongoing development of existing reporting environments with a focus on standardization and consolidation.
• Develop KPI dashboards
• Hire, train, and supervise Analytics team members and ensure that team meets the reporting and analytical needs of the business users
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree preferably in an Information Management discipline such as quantitative analysis, statistics, computer science or a related field.
• Master's degree or MBA is desirable
• 5-7 years in a leadership role with responsibility for enterprise business intelligence solutions
• Strong understanding of business intelligence concepts including data analysis, data mining, statistical analysis, with experience in applying these concepts in data warehouse environments.
• Experience implementing solutions using advanced visualization tools and applications (e.g. D3, etc)
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Microstrategy, Cognos, Jasper Report, and others
• Experience with statistical languages and machine learning applications such as R
• Programming / scripting experience with various languages
• Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g. Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc) with experience in implementing BI solutions on these platforms
• Experience working in big data environments, and knowledge of map/reduce framework (hadoop/hive, other tools) for accessing large volumes of data is a plus.
• Strong communications and collaboration skills
• Experience in the Media / Entertainment / Telecommunications industry a plus
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
