Overview:
As Director, Technology, you'll be primarily responsible for supporting the needs of the Affiliate Sales and Content Sales departments, as well as managing technical relationships, and positioning Vubiquity products and services to fulfill customer needs. You'll also explore the needs of customers that Vubiquity may not yet have solutions for, in effect helping to define and fill the Research and Development pipeline.
Major Activities to ensure achievement of key results and deliverables:
•Gain technical knowledge of Vubiquity products and services as built or being developed
•Assist in the development of the sales message, and assist the Sales departments in presenting the technical concepts, functionality, etc. of the products and/ or services
•Gather client requirements and advise on the development of new products and services
•Maintain technical relationships at all Vubiquity Affiliates and Content Providers
•Work with Sales and Marketing departments to create, organize, and disseminate Vubiquity product information
•Organize, manage, and perform live demonstration of Vubiquity products at trade shows, user conferences, road shows, etc.
•Manage customer driven projects and trials
•Obtain periodic updates from the Operations department and explain operational issues in client meetings
•Assist in creating technical documentation including bids, RFI (Request for Information) and RFP (Request for Proposal) responses and ensure format consistency
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
•5 years minimum experience in Cable Television and/or Telco video sales support environments
•Bachelor degree in a technically related discipline or equivalent combination of education plus experience
•A background in Video on Demand, Linear Cable or Broadcast Television, Cable or IPTV Headend Engineering, Broadband Video, and content management and delivery systems is a plus
•Strong presentation and communication skills
•The ability to learn and adapt in a continuously changing environment
•Able to gain a broad knowledge of (and subsequently explain) all of the technology in use at Vubiquity
•Computer literate and familiar with Windows-based applications
•Must be able to work effectively with team members in other departments
•Must be able to travel up to 50%
