Overview:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for areas relating to financial reporting and the general ledger. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
Responsibilities:
•Apply accounting policies and principles to properly report, and maintain financial data
•Responsible for reviewing monthly account reconciliations of corporate accounts with overall responsibility for corporate SG&A
•Oversee Accounts Payable Department
•Review monthly journal entries for transactions including but not limited to accruals, payroll, intangibles amortization, prepaids, debt, and notes receivable
•Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies
•Assist with overall monthly close process for international subsidiaries including corporate.
•Review and manage intercompany eliminations process, including any foreign currency transactions or translations.
•Preparation of financial reporting documents that are needed monthly, quarterly or yearly for the Company
•Assist with annual audit by preparing financial information and supporting schedules
•Perform account analysis including budget to actual variance and fluctuation analysis
•Manage staff daily workload, coordinate and review staff work
•Collaborate with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
Additional Responsibilities:
•Assist with research and documentation of technical accounting matters
•Communicate internally and externally to obtain necessary information and provide necessary feedback for financial reporting purposes
•Assist with process improvement and policies and procedures update documentation and implementation
•Assist with special assignments and prepare ad hoc reports and analysis
•Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
•Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff
Qualifications:
•BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance, ''Big 4'' CPA preferred
•Minimum 5 to 7 years of total experience in public and private accounting including prior supervisory experience
•Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and applications of accounting principles
•Experience with SAP is desirable
•Strong MS Excel skills
•Must have a strong initiative and be a self-motivated individual
•Excellent written and communication skills
•Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
•Adaptability to changing marketplace
