Caption Editors

This is a Full Time Job

The main tasks of this position are creating and reformatting closed captions and subtitles, creating specially formatted scripts (i.e., .doc templates, RALs, RTFs, etc...), importing and prepping foreign-language or English files for final export, and performing standard def and hi def exports.

The quality of work must be high with little to no hard errors.

Editors are hired for their proficiency in the English language and their computer skills. However, Editors are often called upon to deal with foreign languages, i.e., timing English subs / caps to foreign-language audio, timing foreign-language subs / caps to English audio, importing .doc templates, prepping foreign languages for final export, etc…

Minimum requirements:
•Strong Grammar and Punctuation Skills (must pass test)
•70 WPM Typing (must pass test)
•Strong Transcription Skills (must pass test)
•The ability to follow through on detailed verbal and/or written instructions.
•Excellent time management skills.
•Must have prior English captioning/subtitling experience; references required
•Willing to work on swing shift and weekends
•Proficient in:- MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
