Application Consultant (Business Analyst) for Software Implementations: Working with clients in the Media, Music and IP Licensing Industries
Position Description
The Application Consultant will be based in the Company's Los Angeles, CA office and will be responsible for providing technical and business service and support to the Company's media/entertainment industry clients - defining client requirements and collaborating closely with internal development teams. Application Consultants will receive training in the Company's Counterpoint Suite enterprise level rights and royalties' management software solutions. The incumbent must be able to travel up to 25% of time, or as business needs demand. The incumbent reports to the Lead/Senior Application Consultant, based in the company's Los Angeles, CA office.
Essential Duties
• Develop and maintain in-depth technical, product functionality and operational knowledge of Vistex's Counterpoint Suite software products
• Provide direct client technical service and support for software products and services via phone, email and on-site engagement, including logging new items and on-going correspondence, diagnosing, resolving and escalating issues when required
• Gather and document client requirements for new functionality, features and/or interfaces
• Produce clear, concise functional specifications, data flows and test specifications from which the development teams will develop new products, product enhancements and solutions
• Actively test and participate in the quality assurance activities for products; provide feedback to development teams on product performance, stability, quality and supportability
• Use case management tools to document problems, to provide updates (internally and to clients) and to record resolutions
• Develop system, support, and training documentation for use internally and with clients/end-users
• Train clients and colleagues in Vistex products and solutions
• Some project management responsibilities including regular monitoring and reporting on project progress
• Assist Sales & Marketing team members by providing technical assistance pre-, during- and post- sales process, including but not limited to developing customized product demonstrations
• Other duties as directed or required
Requirements
• 3+ years in an Application Consultant/Business Analyst role
• You are a hybrid of Business Analyst/Software Implementations Specialist/Customer Relations Guru
• Large to small company experience; strong business acumen
• Hands-on experience implementing software products; ERP software/applications experience
• Proven knowledge of software development, QA and software implementation methodologies
• Exemplary client-facing, technical and business service and support skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively develop and maintain client relationships
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven capabilities interacting professionally with all levels of an organization - i.e. executives, technical teams and subject matter experts, both internally and externally
• Demonstrated ability to apply creative, innovative, analytical and critical thinking to strategies, practices and problem-resolution; ability to anticipate and address unforeseen issues; strong attention to detail
• Advanced computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Hands-on database framework, structure and methodology experience
• Time management skills - ability to prioritize and multi-task and meet deadlines
• High level of integrity and ownership for work products and timely deliverables
• You - are goal and results oriented; demonstrate a 'can-do attitude'; work successfully independently and as a member of a team; and, have a strong work ethic
• BA/BS degree in a closely related field
