Overview and Responsibilities
This position provides technical support to Viacom Production Technologies’ supported Content Creation systems and facilities. Daily work obligations include: Installation, maintenance, support, and upgrades of all supported production equipment. This position reports directly to a Manager of Technical Support, Production Technologies.
Major Responsibilities:
• Support for live and taped studio productions.
• Installation of new and/or rental equipment required for productions.
• Identify and resolve potential technical issues in the supported areas utilizing the appropriate resources of the department.
• Instruct clients regarding operation of approved production graphics & editing equipment and related applications.
• Maintain proper departmental documentation and asset information that is easily accessible to management and other team members.
• Ensure daily operations of facilities and equipment.
Basic Qualifications
• Professional experience of 4 years with background in studio production support, video equipment and a general working knowledge of other creative content creation systems.
• Familiarity with industry-standard graphics and animation software and hardware systems (Apple, Adobe Creative Suite, Avid)
Additional Qualifications
• Bachelors degree optional, relevant fieldwork more important.
• Technical certifications pertaining to position highly recommended.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide array production equipment including Camera Systems, Audio Consoles, Video Servers, Intercom Systems, Radio Systems, Production Wireless systems, digital video & audio routers, on-air graphics systems, technical knowledge of video production, computer graphics, animation and an understanding of broadcast production workflows; broad understanding of modern computer operating systems (such as OS X, Linux, Windows) and Network and Fiber connectivity.
