The Paramount Network/TV Land/CMT Research & Insights group is looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Manager/Director to join the Consumer Insights & Marketing Research team. The role requires providing key input to qualitative and quantitative initiatives designed to deliver insight into our consumer, shows and brands, as well as marketing efforts across all platforms. Reporting to the VP of Consumer Insights & Marketing Research, this position requires passion for the media landscape and entertainment industry, a keen understanding of qualitative and quantitative research techniques and knowledge of content viewing behaviors and trends. Responsibilities include:
• Tracking and delivering a holistic understanding of the newly created Paramount Network, including but not limited to its evolving meaning to the audience, brand health, competitive positioning and SWOT, and score card of our brand alignment with the strategic objectives of the organization.
• Ideating and designing show related research and support in the evaluation of pilots, series premieres, finales and series maintenance and being audience expert for Development teams.
• Overseeing the development of focus group materials, and support in the analysis and reporting of findings.
• Being a research insights and data partner to the marketing/creative/strategy group to help with the relevant audience insights, positioning, creative development, competitive contextualizing, media planning insights, pre-launch awareness/intent-to-view tracking and post launch effectiveness analysis of key show launches.
• Growing in-house expertise and broad-based insights into our consumers, their relationship to brands in general and the strategies, content, tactics and platforms of contemporary marketing.
• Packaging information to share out with the organization as a whole, specifically Development, Production and Marketing/Creative teams, and external partners.
• Participating and providing input on thought-leadership projects to better understand the content viewing landscape and consumers overall.
• Responsible for the development, oversight and output quality of direct report(s), structuring clear accountabilities, stakeholder relationships and workflow processes.
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of 5-7 years of related experience, preferably at a content provider
• Must be adept at qualitative research methodologies
• Ability to craft “story-telling” presentations a must
Additional Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong business and personal ethics
• Strong organizational & time management skills
• Strong written & verbal communication skills
• Have an understanding of Nielsen measurement currency; knowledge of campaign measurement a plus
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task within a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Ability to inspire a must
• A love of content, characters and story telling
• A proactive self-starter who can immediately recognize tasks and execute accordingly
