Overview and Responsibilities
Viacom's Creative Music & Licensing team is seeking a department assistant to provide administrative support for three executives in Creative Music and Licensing Strategy (Music & Media Licensing and Creative Music Integration).
Responsibilities
for this role include:
-Booking conference rooms, setting up of conference calls, and navigating schedules of internal and external executives.
-Creating power point presentations and sizzle reels.
-Handling frequent incoming phone calls.
-Handling travel planning and expense reports.
-Assisting with department documents, reports, files and databases.
-Researching copyright information (i.e. record label information, songwriter information, publishing information).
-Assisting with music blogs, soundtracks and other music based department initiatives.
-Updating music licensing tracking reports and other report and assisting with cue sheets.
-Preparing licenses and route licenses for signature and payment.
-Assisting with department files; tracking and reporting rights information.
Basic Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 1-2 years experience in an office environment, preferably in the television/music/entertainment field, ideally within the capacity of business affairs, rights & clearances, or licensing.Undergraduate degree preferred.LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to interact with and maintain relationships with various departments with VMN. Must have sufficient language skills to communicate effectively with co-workers and with executives on all levels within the company and outside. Must be able to write effectively. Must be able to communicate show ideas/use of materials/rights & media requested accurately to licensors.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
On occasion, supervises interns on special projects.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations, e.g.; budgeting, tracking reports, controlled portions of compositions/fees.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to accurately analyze contract and license agreements. General understanding of the legal issues that affect clearances. Ability to recognize when to seek advice from supervisor.
