The Asset Manager will lead the development of the content to tie into the curriculum for our young learner’s Nickelodeon English Language Learning programme worldwide. You will work closely with our partners in mapping out the curriculum to available assets ensuring we can deliver the most relevant content to demonstrate examples of first words in English, sentence structures, grammar, numbers, etc.
The procurement of these assets will require strict observance to critical milestones. The individual will mine digital, episodic and print publishing assets to make certain they work within the outlined curriculum with our ELL publisher.
The candidate should have excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills as you will work with the Executive in Charge (EIC), production teams, internal teams as well as animators and illustrators to ensure the most efficient use of our assets, requiring the least amount of editing. You will be self-motivated and able to work independently.
This individual will be charged with the responsibility of developing highly sophisticated mapping and navigation methods to sort and catalogue media for easier navigation of thousands of assets. You will also need to have a robust technical understanding of file format and delivery.
You will need to form strong relationships and partner with our internal teams, based in several locations and ELL partner in product development, ensuring we meet strict production timelines. Internal collaboration is a critical function to ensure we capitalize on production expertise of the episodic content, digital managers’ expertise, etc.
Key Responsibilities Include;
• Ability to partner with and identify specific needs to support a multi-faceted curriculum in English language learning
• Provide fastest possible turnaround in sourcing materials and assets
• Liaise between Viacom freelancers and publisher’s production team in drafting a brief for the production or modification of existing animation or illustration
• Build a more sophisticated library of assets with specific meta tags to identify core educational themes
• Provide daily point of contact to production team and ELL partner
• Develop deep understanding of NVCP’s brands, systems and available assets
• Accountable for the distribution of creative assets to ELL partner, ensuring they are in a compatible, cost efficient format for users
• Provide approvals of online assets, digital images and layout in conjunction with the editor
• Build relationships with character art team and copy content team based in New York and with production teams based in LA to aid sourcing of assets and materials.
• Participate in launching largest language leaning programme of its kind for the organisation
• Some travel may be required.
Skills & Experience:
The ideal candidate would have:
• A good level of education
• Experience in and a passion for English Language Learning for young learners, children’s publishing or licensing
• Understanding of pre-school learning based ELL programmes
• Mac/PC literate; specifically Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Creative Suite
• Experience of working in a creative environment
• Experience working with designers and editors, production executives and product developers
• Working knowledge of creative suite
• Technical understanding of file format and delivery
• Knowledge of digital assets, moving and still
