Overview and Responsibilities
Viacom International Media Networks is looking for a Sr. Analyst, Content & Marketing. Based in New York City, reporting to the VP FP&A Brand, the Sr. Analyst will be expected to support the content and marketing planning and forecast process, and content ad hoc analysis. The Sr. Analyst will effectively communicate and proactively manage relationships with the accounting, brand operations, and finance team in the regions.
Basic Qualifications
Support close process
• Assist the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process by confirming accuracy of programming amortization, book transactional accruals, and submit variance analysis for both the P&L and Balance Sheet.
• Prepare monthly budget vs. actual account reconciliations for stakeholders to continually evaluate the appropriateness of our estimates.
• Manage review of systematic allocation of operating expenses to the regions.
• Prepare the information necessary to perform quarterly programming impairment analysis reviews.
• Process intracompany transactions.
Manage Central Content Library
• Submit requests for project/asset creation.
• Update the Programming Model (LVPLANDETINT) based on discussions with the VIMN Programming and Acquisitions Team, Domestic Music team and UK Production Management team.
• Provide scenario forecasting to programming teams to drive programming decisions and manage amortization.
Planning
• Manage the preparation of all budgets and long range planning for Content and Marketing expense.
• Prepare financial planning and reporting submissions.
• Coordinate with regional finance teams to understand worldwide planning submissions.
• Consolidate relevant VIMN revenue to ensure backend reporting is accurate.
Additional Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance
• Minimum 5 yrs. of relevant experience
• Analytical thinker with a strong understanding of accounting principles including amortization (or depreciation).
• Demonstrated ability to deliver operational excellence and proven time management skills to multiple tasks in a fast paced, dynamic environment
• Fluent in Spanish, working knowledge of Mandarin and Portuguese
• Effective business partner with ability to influence senior management and drive organizational effectiveness.
• International working experience
• Confidence in dealing and building relationships with all levels of management.
• Experience with global media company preferred.
• CPA, CFM, CMA a plus
• Knowledge of Longview Planning Systems
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Well organized with strength in prioritizing
• Exhibits flexibility and a positive attitude in order to achieve results
