Velvet Hammer Music and Management Group, a boutique artist management, record label, and publishing company based in West Hollywood, CA is looking to hire a dynamic, detail-oriented and intelligent Tour Marketing & PR Manager to provide direct support for public relations and strategic marketing campaigns for our roster of clients.
This role requires the ability to quickly and effectively execute workflows in a fast paced environment and will report to the CEO and Senior Vice President. An existing list of music and lifestyle media contacts is required. Applicant must have strong communication skills and a high attention to detail.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Secure & manage in-house publicity for client roster - print, TV and digital media. Utilize contact list and work alongside third party publicists to manage a high level of press scheduling for artists while acting as a liaison between the artists and promoters/label executives.
• Strategize and execute partner collaborations and endorsements.
• Strategize, coordinate and implement marketing campaigns with success in furthering brand/artist awareness, surrounding but not limited to album releases, national and international tours, as well as the Velvet Hammer brand.
• Foster relationships with digital influencers to activate larger social media marketing strategies and integrated marketing campaigns.
• Staying abreast of best in class practices and current trends in social and digital media, as well as emerging technology, and selectively and appropriately incorporating these apps and new components into our campaigns.
• Coordinate between the marketing department and artist management team on talent scheduling, marketing asset delivery, and creative approvals.
• Coordinate national and international promotional itineraries for artists.
• Coordinate tour marketing plans with global agencies and promoters.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
• BA or BS in related field
• +2 years music industry experience- preferably in PR/marketing
• Existing contact list for music/lifestyle media partners
• Strong communication skills - oral and written
• Resourceful, self-motivated and proactive/intuitive thinker
• Must be able to collaborate in a team environment
• Quick to learn new tasks, systems and processes
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Must have knowledge of current / modern music industry trends and familiarity with our artist roster
• Proficient with Mac computers, Microsoft word & Excel
• Knowledge of Photoshop a major plus
