Full-Time Position for a Publicity Assistant/Junior Publicist at boutique entertainment public relations firm in Los Angeles.
Skills Required:
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. We are looking for a results driven, creative thinker, who can keep up in a fast paced, deadline driven work environment. Must be able to problem solve and work independently. Must be reliable, punctual and able to multi-task. The Ideal candidate will have Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, or Journalism degree, minimum 1-2 + years of work experience beyond internships, experience using Cision, ProfNet, Word, Excel, etc. References and writing samples are a must. Entry level position with room for advancement.
Duties may include:
Facilitating communications/marketing projects and strategic planning. * Overseeing assigned accounts and serving as a liaison between the media and client. * Participating in team brainstorms and providing recommendations for communications strategies. * Working directly with media contacts in both print and online to help fulfill requests for client information and images. *Helping to inform the media of new client developments via pitch or press release.* Helping to schedule and facilitate interviews and press opportunities for clients *Scheduling interviews *Updating corporate websites *posting to Facebook and Twitter *Oversee interns.
You will also be expected to maintain accurate media lists and track press coverage and news cycles for weekly and monthly reporting. You will be on point for first drafts of press releases, pitches and corporate supporting documents. To be successful in this role, you'll need to have an eye for detail and accuracy, feel comfortable multi-tasking, and be undaunted by shifting priorities.
