Job Summary
Hire and support freelance technicians for VER events with a primary focus on Audio.
Duties and Responsibilities
Source qualified freelance technicians for all VER events, including Television, Film, Conventions, with a primary focus on Audio positions for concerts and concert tours
Identify qualified people for specific roles, with
Work closely with Audio Department and Project Managers to fulfill crew requests
Understand nature of all events in order to provide skilled labor for each position
Hire freelance crews for multiple size events
Work closely with Sales Team to fulfill overall staffing needs for each project
Maintain database of freelance technicians
Schedule all VER staff Audio technicians and maintain their hours
With Audio Training Manager to ensure quality hires
Liaison between freelance technician and the Travel Department
With technician on travel requests
Ensure best possible pricing for airline and hotel
Ensure timeliness of booking travel
Liaison between Freelance technician and the Payroll Department
Collect hours for all staff and freelance technicians and submit to payroll each week
Create Labor Report for each event
Point person for all payroll issues
Manage crew hours and labor issues onsite for large events
Ability to on board new hires and understand the I9 process
Ability to negotiate rates based on company rate cards and project budget
Qualifications
5-10 years' experience crewing for Entertainment, Sports, and Conventions
5 - 10 years of show and touring experience in Audio
BA in Communications and/or related field
A knowledge of each audio position and required skill set for each
Ability to work in an ever changing, fast paced environment
Ability to think outside of the box
Resourcefulness is key to the success in this position
Ability to work long, flexible hours and weekends when needed
Strong organizational skills
Computer skills required including the use of Excel, Outlook and Word
Knowledge of technical equipment with a focus on Audio gear
Knowledge of payroll processes
Exposure to booking travel
Ability to travel when necessary
Basic understanding of California Labor Laws
Working Conditions
Some travel is required
Typically work in an office setting
Physical Requirements
Primarily this position requires sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Ability to use hands to type and operate a desk and cell phone
Ability to work long hours on your feet if necessary
Direct Reports
This position will report to the Director of Crewing Operations and Travel
Will also take direction from Audio Special Projects Manager
