Full Time Job
The Director of Hardware Engineering will be responsible for directing and administering the engineering and process control function within a fast-paced team in the video display and processing industry.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the process and design engineering team in continuous improvement activities
Continually evaluate departmental systems with continuous improvement as the objective
Direct and administer the design of major products through the mechanical engineering group
Monitor capital project status and costs for engineering-managed projects
Provide periodic reports of departmental activity and schedules to allow management to assess major project costs and schedules
Provide training and motivation to department members
Develop and maintain the engineering policy and procedures
Maintain adequate succession plans
Develop and maintain skills in the use of personal computers in engineering work to improve accuracy, productivity, and professionalism in all work products
Ensure that high standards of engineering design, materials, and construction are maintained in all work both by the engineering department
Ensure that engineering standards are consistently and uniformly used
Maintain the engineering certifications and memberships which the Company may require
Maintain a technical library of engineering standards, process audits, and technical reports from all sources pertaining to the design, construction and operation of plant processes
Maintain and enhance the engineering section of the document library as a means of providing engineering information on standards and best practices within the company
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
B.Sc. or equivalent degree in an engineering discipline; MBA preferred
15+ years of Engineering and Engineering management experience in positions of increasing responsibility
8-10+ years of related experience
Continuous Improvement
Major project management
Capital project planning and budgeting
Process control auditing
Developing and managing engineering policy and procedures
Computer proficiency
Supervisory and management skills
Advanced skills in design
