Full Time Job
The Camera General Manager's primary responsibility is to orchestrate and organize the camera QC and camera prep departments within the branch for all outbound and inbound shipments of active projects, process the required paperwork, and carry out administrative duties pertaining but not limited to his/her position.
Duties and responsibilities
• Daily Management of Camera QC Team
o Work with Site Lead to forecast labor needs and timelines for equipment turn
o Pull daily reports on gear that needs to be QC'd in either standard or quickturn
o Manage quality control equipment and procedures in office
o Work with operations to optimize work flow for the camera department
o Ensures Camera QC department's overall throughput and quality meets expectations for required schedule
• Daily Management of Camera Prep Team
o Work with operations and Camera Job Assembly team to make sure prep jobs are fulfilled prior to clients arriving to prep
o Ensures the Camera Prep team is providing the proper level of service to the clients during prep
o Works with prep team to make sure prep space is functional, clean and ready for clients
• Daily interface with sales
o Works with sales to confirm all deadlines are achievable
o Informs sales of any potential issues that they need to be aware of
• Daily interface with operations
o Works with operations to ensure all camera gear is being returned properly and in a timely manner
o Ensures all outgoing equipment related deadlines are met
o Defines the flow and hand off of equipment
• Work with National Camera Team to manage the flow of gear
o Makes sure gear gets sent to repair via internal shipping
o Works with operations and Camera Job Assembly team to make sure transfers are being fulfilled
o Ensures that maintenance schedules on equipment are being adhered to
• Works with National Camera QC team and Camera Product Support
o Ensures QC standards are being followed
o Work to maintain SOP's specific to local site
o Work with National Camera Team to help provide updates to SOP/Processes
o Promote local office staff to communicate with all other camera staff
• Handle all procurement with the National team for materials for department
o Handle purchasing for expendables and consumables
o Handle any workbench or QC need request for purchasing
o Works with National Camera Team to request camera specific commonly replaced items
Qualifications
A minimum of 10 years supervisory/management experience in camera/film industry is preferred
A fundamental understanding or familiarity with broadcast and/or cinema camera equipment and gear is a plus
Must be technically proficient with cameras, lenses, camera support and broadcast equipment.
Must have strong organizational skills and be able to prioritize work to meet deadlines
Working conditions
This job frequently requires working over assigned shift. It will also include occasionally weekend days. There will be minimal travel.
Physical requirements
Employee should be capable of lifting 50lbs regularly to demonstrate proper use of equipment.
