Position Overview:
The Sales Marketing Manager assists a Marketing Director and helps to market and increase sales in each of the Universal Sports day parts. The Sales Marketing Manager has the ability to interface with internal constituencies (sales, management, research, programming) in order to secure requisite input/approvals for business opportunities. The Sales Marketing Manager has the ability to interface with external customers (advertisers, agencies) and translate the needs of the target brand into “sellable” programs that generate revenue for Universal Sports.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Development of new and innovative sales opportunities and customized day part sales presentations
• Interface with sales personnel and translate their needs into marketing materials
• Analyze and run SMRB/MRI information to develop sales stories/day part positioning
• Analyze competitive spending patterns
• Analyze product categories to develop opportunities for Universal Sports
• Write company overviews for sales group
• Development of all Marketing collateral materials to position Universal Sports day parts/networks to Agencies and Advertisers (sales videos, program one sheets, ratings highlights, flash emails, print creative)
• Execution of promotional programs
• Represent Universal Sports Marketing on client calls with Account Executives
• Supervision of Marketing Analyst, Associate or Assistant
• Oversee and manage day part budget
Qualifications:
• On average 7 years of experience at an agency, media company, and sales organization or in research, where the individual was responsible for presentation, creative and promotion development.
• College degree from accredited University
Skill Requirements:
• Strong organizational skills – ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong written and oral communication skills – ability to communicate clearly and effectively and analyze data to develop strong selling story/distinct positioning
• Thorough knowledge of brand and media marketing, the sales process and media in general
• Understanding of and ability to analyze Nielsen data/other Research tools (CMR, MRI, etc)
• Creative thinking
• Ability to generate ideas and new concepts/positioning as it relates to the sales product
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to solve problems
• Understanding of the promotion development and execution process and experience executing promotions.
• Strong interpersonal and management skills - ability to lead team and interact with internal and external clients
• Strong Computer program knowledge (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc) and presentation proficiencies.
