Assistant Editor (video)
Universal Sports Network is a 24/7 cable network devoted to Olympics-style sports.
We are looking for experienced assistant editors to support robust post-production activity involving 6 Final Cut edit bays, one audio post room and a live control room.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
• SAN ingest from file and videotape;
• File downloads;
• Export, compress, transcode and FTP delivery;
• QC;
• Some editing (Final Cut Pro);
• Perform videotape dubbing and burning DVDs.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• Advanced Final Cut Pro and Adobe Production Bundle skills;
• Solid experience in operation of videotape machines (HDCAM, XDCAM and Digital Betacam);
• Experience with wide range of file codecs (ProRes 4:2:2; Quicktime; etc);
• Experience with SAN systems;
• Knowledge of video, audio and file standards;
• At least one year with cable network, tv station/network or post-production house.
HELPFUL EXPERIENCE:
• Building4Media's FORK media management system;
• EVS operation;
• MacCaption software;
• Telstream FlipFactory.
Full-time and part-time employment is available immediately. Work entails some weekend and early morning hours.
