Details: Vevo is currently seeking a Senior Production Support Engineer for the New York, NY office.

This hands-on role will be responsible for managing the production infrastructure serving the VEVO web site, application, databases, and associated services. The Senior Production Support Engineer [SPSE] will be responsible for ensuring web site up time and for environment and application configuration and monitoring. The SPSE will also serve as the security officer for the company, ensuring that SOX compliance and appropriate security measures are in place at all levels of the stack, including application, operating system, and network protocols. The SPSE will oversee every stage of change management, including: scalability analysis in Development and QA, load testing in Staging, and rolling updates and error monitoring in Production.

The SPSE will be available off-hours in the case of critical production issues and act as the first line of response, along with the Jr. Production Support Analyst. The
SPSE will also monitor performance and application health and ensure the provisioned hardware and software can scale to projected demands. In daily operations it is the SPSE’s primary responsibility to formulate and perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks and coordinate with external vendors all backup procedures, on-going patches and maintenance, and disaster recovery plans.

The SPSE will also play a consulting role with VEVO’s Lead Architect advising the Lead Architect on issues of system design, monitoring, database utilization and optimization, scalability, and best practices. The intent is for the SPSE to help to design and craft the resultant production environment(s) that will have to be supported by the Product Engineering team. The environment must be optimized for the highest performance from both a database and a web server point of view.

Job Requirements:

•5 Years experience maintaining a scalable, global web platform in .net MVC
•5 Years experience in monitoring and troubleshooting complex web and database environments
•3 Years coordination experience with a large development and Q/A team
•Windows Server 2008 Administration and Performance Monitoring
•IIS 7.0 Administration and Performance Monitoring
•Clustered MS SQL Server 2008 administration and Performance Monitoring
•Distributed architecture and design implementations
•Production environment and networking configuration: firewalls, load balancers, Active Directory, SSL
•Caching Strategies and Coordination
•The implementation and daily production of monitoring and error handling reports
•The implementation and daily production of application and database performance reports
•Virtual Machine Administration and Performance Monitoring
•NetApp Administration and Performance Monitoring
•Server Change Management and Reporting
•.net MVC architecture and best practices
•Use of proxy servers and other middleware platforms and architecture
•Advanced Windows Server Monitoring
•Baynote Recommendation Engine
•Crowd Factory Community Platfrom
•Akamai Caching Services
•Doubleclick DART Ad Server
•FreeWheel Ad Server
•YouTube API
•Brightcove Delivery Platform
•Flash and Flash Media Server
•Flex
•Knowledge of Front End Coding and Scripting Impacts to Production Environments

Additional Comments:

•5 or more years of professional experience maintaining the production and uptime of a global website(s) supporting 5-25 million monthly uniques and user registration base of 1 million plus
•Bachelor’s degree, preferably computer engineering, application design, systems architecture or similar
