JOB DESCRIPTION:
JOB SUMMARY:
Universal Music Group is currently looking to fill the role Label Head of Digital Marketing. The primary goals are to develop, execute, and measure multi-platform strategic marketing initiatives that drive incremental revenue for the company. The incumbent will also maintain optimal operational efficiencies and stay abreast of new and emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within music and digital brand marketing with a track record of building successful revenue generating partnerships.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Goal Setting, Best Practices, and Policies
• Setting label wide strategies and policies and communications regarding but not limited to Soundcloud, Manual Upload/VEVO best practices, YouTube, Pandora, etc and all other online streaming accounts
• Work cross department and manage laterally to ensure that policies are met and exceptions are made when necessary; ensure all departments feel supported in launching artists/records/videos online
Growth, Innovation, and New Business
• Find new revenue streams using the data and resources at hand; focusing
on but limited to : the sponsorship of socials, conversion KPI awards, conversion
modeling, sponsorship of data collections/market segmentation, online
content funding and development
• Model out and negotiate new digital business deals, working with Business Affairs
to negotiate and paper all new deals
• Work with senior executives and Business Affairs to ensure that all JV labels
and other endeavors are handled properly as it pertains to the digital assets
(rolling up YT channels, the financial breakdown of assets monetized online, etc.)
• Work seamlessly with Head of Technology to integrate new vendors into
new business developments and ensure that all data management is being scaled,
analyzed, and put to market as a potential source of revenue
• Work with Head of Strategic Marketing to handle the digital distribution and build of
assets for brand deals brought in, ensuring both brand and label goals are met
Member – Global Digital Board
• Sit on the UMG Global Digital Board, representing IGA Record Label
• Interface with Heads of New Business and Digital Marketing in every other country,
driving global value and strategic insight
• Communicate with Global Digital Business Unit (GDB) and Group Distribution (UMGD)
making strategic decisions on behalf of ingestion, supply chain issues,
claiming and monetization of repertoire online
• OTHER KEY AREAS
• Budget, create and execute comprehensive digital marketing plans for all
releases with emphasis on innovation and data driven best practices
• Interface with and support artists, management, marketing, sales, publicity, A&R,
Radio Promo and corporate (UMGD) teams on all digital marketing initiatives
• Imperative to interactive with the Head of Technology, understand new vendors,
and seamlessly use them in digital marketing campaigns.
• Measure effectiveness of digital marketing efforts across all channels
• Create performance and conversion benchmarks for CRM, sales, and content
• Focus on real time mentions, steaming, sentiment, sales conversation, and using
data to inform all content and marketing decisions
• Oversee team with expertise in areas listed above

• Experience in strategic/partnership marketing pertaining to music industry or
entertainment in general
• Experience with technology, entertainment and segmenting consumer audiences is a plus
• Ability to travel as needed for partner meetings
• Excellent communication skills with all levels of executives, management and staff
• Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Self-starter, will take initiative with new projects
• Professional demeanor in dealing with clients and co-workers
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, PowerPoint,
and Outlook
• 4-year college degree.
