JOB DESCRIPTION:
As the Director, Advertising & Media Strategy your primary responsibility will be to support the platforms primarily used by Universal Music Group labels for traditional and digital advertising, as well as CRM campaign management. This includes working with Universal Music Group (UMG) labels to identify and analyze optimal media and key strategies. Duties and responsibilities include:
• Support relationships with key advertising partners including agencies and channel
platforms to support various types of advertising (including OOH, TV, print, radio,
mobile, social, search, display, retargeting, video and more)
• Develop a deep understanding of all platforms utilized and work with agencies
to ensure new opportunities are provided to UMG, which includes evaluating
new media types / outlets
• Work directly with strategic partners to support new advertising products and support
label adoption
• Work with agencies and platforms to optimize their reporting and metrics for campaigns,
while creating enterprise wide reports (i.e. quarterly, yearly, etc.)
• Define best practices and opportunities to evangelize
(across artist releases and labels) including ongoing case studies and knowledge sharing
to maximize optimal CRM techniques and media mix for campaigns
• Evaluate overall CRM techniques, with a focus on email to identify campaign effectiveness
• Manage and support media plans for central UMGD campaigns
• Maintain relationships across all UMG labels and provide support for advertising
and email campaigns
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Requirements
• Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
• 8 years experience
• Prior experience in advertising, marketing and/or entertainment industry
• Agency experience is a plus, with strong focus on digital marketing
• Knowledge of online ads, platforms, CRM, and campaign performance management
• Ability to understand multi-channel ad effectiveness
• Proven success in creating, optimizing, and executing advertising campaigns
• Proactive and highly motivated self-starter with the ability to interact with a variety of individuals
• Analytical thinker
• Exceptional writing, communication/presentation skills, and detail oriented
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and shift priorities on an as needed basis
• Adaptive to highly fluid and ever-changing environments
• Tech savvy and ability to adopt new platforms
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, advertising platforms
