JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Creative Administrator is the liaison between A&R staff/songwriters and the departments that facilitate administrative functions such as Copyright, Business Affairs, Finance and Royalties.
The Creative Administrator will also serve as the archivist for all audio recordings published by the company.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Works with A&R staff and songwriters to gather writer and publisher information
and song splits for all new songs. This includes verifying the information and reducing
it to a format for the copyright department to easily and efficiently register songs
with performing rights societies and the Library of Congress. Making sure all songs
are put in AMS.
• Maintains and updates tracking sheets on all published songwriters for incoming
songs, and releases associated with those songs. These tracking sheets are used
by the Business Affairs department to assess songwriter status with regard to
their agreed commitments (number of songs per period, including required releases).
• Archives audio for all new releases of published songs, as well as demo recordings.
Keeps a database log for the location of each recording. As the company archivist,
this person also provides duplication services for staff related to song pitching for
various exploitation.
• Handles all invoices for session vendors. Creating new vendors through Uniport
and processing invoices. This includes coding costs back to writer accounts based
on the agreed terms of their publishing contracts. Tracking cost on demo
expenses, MDRC ,writer splits, demo audio input.
• Burn CD's and creates Pitch Tools upon request from creative staff.
• Finalize our writer and artist travel through the Universal authorization systems
using Uniport and completing the ETA for the travel agency.
• Locate songs from our database on the 7 hard drives or AS400 database.
• Reception relief during lunch.
• Social Media and website updates.

Job Knowledge and Skills:
• Some music publishing knowledge helpful.
• A passion for music.
• Excellent Computer skills: Proficient with Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook. Social Media
and Internet Research capability
• Excellent knowledge and application of Internet resources
• Helpful but not required, with PIPS, AMS, Uniport
• Organized and meticulous to details
• Multi task and able to adjust to changing priorities.
