JOB DESCRIPTION:
Job Description
UMG is seeking a Manager Business Analysis who has a passion for music and numbers. The Manager Business Analysis will be an integral part of the Analysis group, working closely with executive, sales, and marketing teams. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical aptitude as well as technical skills to innovate reports and models through data visualization, automation, and utility. He/she is intellectually curious and possesses the ability to take complex analysis and present findings and business recommendations in a clear, meaningful way.
Responsibilities
• Develop efficiencies, innovations, and creativity in reporting, data modeling,
and forecasting
• Prepare business reviews and analysis for presentation to retail and label partners
• Prepare and distribute monthly executive reports
• Use sales data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities, and communicate findings
• Objectively interpret large amounts of data and distill into simple, clear bullet points
• Deliver actionable analysis to optimize sales/marketing programs and promotions
• Consumer analysis – trends, behavior, segmentation
• Craft executive powerpoint presentations using data visualization to present insights
and findings
• Ad hoc sales analysis
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
C. Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an analytics based role
• Advanced user of Excel – writing/editing macros, VBA, pivot tables, lookups, logical functions
• Advanced Powerpoint skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Access
• Experience with BI software such as Microstrategy
• Experience running SQL queries and SoundScan a plus
• Strong communication / interpersonal skills (with all levels of management)
• Strong quantitative and data analysis skills
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, Finance, Economics or related field preferred
