Universal Music Group is currently seeking an ACcount Executive in our Santa Monica, CA office location.
Purpose of Role
Universal Music Group (UMG) has a Global Digital Business team whose core role is to develop and drive digital revenue growth and to act as a centre of excellence for all territories by developing new business models, partners, and revenue streams, setting guidelines, and promulgating best practices from a global perspective.
One main aspect of UMG’s Global Digital Business function is the management and co-ordination of digital accounts, which span multiple territories. As the number of key global digital accounts managed by UMG continues to grow, the focus on co-ordination, providing support and sharing best practice with territories is greater than ever. The Global Digital Business team is looking to recruit a Digital Account Executive to manage the business plan for key global digital accounts, including the development and execution of sales and marketing campaigns and goals. The role also requires the Digital Account Executive to work closely with territories across UMG where digital accounts have a presence or plans for future rollout.
Job Summary
This person will manage excellent relationships with accounts, be able to hit sales targets and create incremental sales opportunities. The right candidate will have a great sense of team spirit, enthusiasm and energy.. They will be required to work closely with all labels within the Universal Music Group, International Marketing, Commercial Affairs, Digital Supply Chain, Technology, Business Affairs, Sales Reporting and Finance as well as escalating issues to senior management.
Job Functions:
* Supporting primary liaison between UMG and account to create marketing plans and advertising strategies for new releases
* Solicit, market and sell-through new releases and product lines
* Oversee special promotional opportunities with accounts (advertising, merchandising, marketing, retail partnership activities)
* Manage sales activities as it relates to goals of the company
* Successfully manage relationship with accounts including verification of: launch, product delivery, punctual reporting and on-going partnership maintenance
* Successfully manage relationship and shared goals with marketing team/labels
* Build and maintain successful relationships with digital teams across UMG territories
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
* Solid experience in selling and marketing in high visibility environment
* Solid understanding of retail sales and marketing strategies through direct professional experience
* Solid understanding of digital consumer trends
* Solid understanding of digital customer/partner practices and business needs
* A good knowledge and understanding of P&L’s
* Ability to think creatively and independently, as well as collaboratively
* Ability to operate in a highly collaborative manner in solving problems and work in pressure situations
* Excellent negotiating and people skills
* Polished presentation skills, ability to appeal to variety of customers
* Ability to multitask, and adjust to changing priorities
* Ability to craft and deliver executive-level presentations
* Ability to communicate with all levels of management and executives
* Minimum 5 years of sales or marketing experience at music company or digital/mobile provider
* Some experience in working with a team and managing people
