Description
This position will be responsible for the capture and strategic deployment of video content assets created across Universal Music Groups’ label ecosystem to successfully drive various video business objectives. This highly visible role entails working with UMG’s major labels to understand their video content roadmap; and, ensure assets are available to utilize across the UMG ecosystem. Position also involves supporting labels on new opportunities and promotional roadmaps.
Job Functions:
• Work with product managers and digital marketing departments within each of the labels to understand and support their video content production activities & strategy
• Capture & centralize video content in coordination with the label’s product managers
• Support business development efforts for video content distribution; ongoing research and development for new projects
• Work with UMG technology teams, including Advanced Media, to prepare and store assets for delivery to third parties
• Implement strategic plans and business initiatives
• Evaluate programs, tools & processes
• Build and lead a high performing team of video editing professionals
• Comfortable with hands-on tactical work as well as thought leadership
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• Must have experience working in the music industry and label ecosystem; Passion for music
• Understanding of video content distribution ecosystem including social media, streaming media and services, including advertising supported and subscription supported video services
• Basic understanding of production and post-production services and functions, a plus
• Experience in digital technologies including asset management, storage and delivery, a plus
• Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint highly desirable, especially for creating reports
• Strong and effective communication and presentation skills; significant experience presenting to executives
• Attention to detail, organized, and thorough
• Ability to work with distributed teams and across multiple time zones
• Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work across various labels & with strong personalities
• Proven influencing and collaboration skills to overcome/navigate competing priorities to achieve the right results
• Promotes transparent communication
• Other duties and requirements as required
Experience:
• Minimum 8 years’ experience at a major record label; preference with video capture and delivery, and/or label marketing and promotion
• Minimum 5 years managing & leading a team
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree
