Job title: UX Business Analyst (1 year fixed-term)
Department: Spinnup
Location of work: Kensington 4 days a week, otherwise remote
main purpose of role
Spinnup is Universal Music's tech-driven approach to talent discovery in the music industry. It is an international digital platform and service helping unsigned musicians to distribute their music globally and to get heard by the industry. Spinnup is established in UK, Germany, Sweden, France, Denmark, Norway and very soon, in the US and Canada. We are a small, friendly and dynamic start-up style team who run the business together and believe in giving people autonomy in their roles.
We are looking for a business analyst to join our new tech team. You will help to define the design and vision of Spinnup's artist and talent scout services and be pivotal in us becoming the world's greatest distribution and talent discovery platform. You will build close relationships with managers of international teams to help understand local needs, which will involve the odd trip to Stockholm, Berlin and Paris. You will develop an understanding of and empathy with unsigned artists in order to produce an industry-leading product that is tailored to their needs. You are innovative, highly organised, an excellent communicator, personable and can work independently.
Key Responsibilities
• Understanding the needs of Spinnup's users (artists, scouts and A&Rs) and priorities of local teams
• Defining and prioritising new features, enhancements and fixes
• Ensuring an excellent and intuitive user experience for artists, scouts and A&Rs
• Producing and managing functional documentation, wireframes and acceptance criteria
• Testing and acceptance of new features (or coordinating with external testing consultants)
• Managing the prioritised product backlog, helping to plan development sprints
• Helping to define and evolve the long-term term product vision and strategy
• Monitoring and evaluating competitors' services and the competitive landscape to ensure Spinnup is the market leader

Essential
• Experience of web user experience design
• Experience designing wireframes
• Experience in creating functional documentation
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain rationale for design decisions
• Excellent organisational skills
• Ability to think innovatively and strategically
• Good understanding of technical concepts relating to web development
Desired
• Understanding of user-centred design concepts
• Experience working in an Agile environment and managing product backlogs
• A passion for working in the music industry
• Front-end / UI testing experience
