About the Role
Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) has an amazing opportunity available for a Sync & Marketing Assistant reporting to the Vice President Creative, ANZ. The successful applicant will be responsible for all licensing activity, taking all incoming and outgoing general licensing and copyright enquiries.
Responsibilities include:
• Responsible for all licensing activity in relation to specific client areas including actioning enquiries, providing quotations, handling negotiations, seeking clearances, issuing and tracking of License Agreements.
• Handling licensing contract generation, licensing administration, invoice tracking and payment liaison with accounts team as directed and via email, UMPG specific licensing systems and physical contracts
• Uploading of recordings of UMP songs as used in commercials to the APRA site for jingle reporting purposes
• In conjunction with other Creative Services team members, provide creative support and attend (where necessary) client meetings and/or listening sessions (at least one per month), to promote catalogue and acquire further insight into client’s current requirements;
• In conjunction with Creative Services Team liaise with writer management, principals, Australian A&R and International creative licensing staff to identify priorities, expectations and implement strategies for maximum promotion and exploitation of writer’s works. Take meetings and provide synchronisation insight, current production activity, co-ordinated strategic marketing plans and updates
• Administrative and creative support to Licensing Department as directed.
• Assistance to other office members as required.
About You
• Clear understanding of the roles of publishers and record companies and other rights holders in the music eco-system.
• Good general musical knowledge and awareness of artists/songs etc.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent client services attitude
• Willingness to work within a team and collaborative environment
• Enjoyment of live music and willingness to attend gigs and client entertainment events
• Excellent computer skills / knowledge or aptitude to learn new systems – Outlook, Microsoft Office Programmes, Copyright Management Systems
