Description
The Senior Director has responsibility for UMPG’s global royalty processing and royalty administration systems. You will be experienced at leading a team and setting and meeting deadlines, measuring performance and reporting to senior management. The position reports to VP Global Admin – Operations.
Job Functions:
• Overall responsibility for efficient and accurate royalty processing in all UMPG territories
• Manage the workload and workflow across all Global Royalty processes, setting priorities appropriately
• Provide constructive leadership, active management and mentoring to all Global Royalty team members
• Develop and manage Global Royalty procedures, controls and standards
• Continuously seek to improve and streamline processes and increase efficiency
• Co-ordinate, develop and test Global Royalty IT requirements
• Provide financial reporting and analysis to senior management
• Research and answer requests from the internal business teams, finance and senior management.
• Use volume and performance metrics data to actively monitor performance
• Oversee the training and support of Global Administration and the local UMPG offices
• Visits and engagement with UMPG local offices, societies and contract partners
• Ad hoc projects and responsibilities as required
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• The ability to work on a day to day basis without daily direction, self-manage the team through individual tasks and priorities
• Strong ability to explain financials and analysis including royalty calculations and performance metrics
• Follows through on open issues though to resolution, meets deadlines in an efficient and effective way
• Motivated and open to change with ability to bring new and practical ideas
• Communicate and express issues in a clear and logical way to colleagues with various level of expertise
• Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel as well as being comfortable learning to extract data from our customized systems
Experience:
• Senior level international royalty experience within a music publishing company essential
• Highly experienced in managing large teams, setting of timelines and priorities
• Experienced at effectively monitoring and managing performance issues
• Experienced at creating and building work plans, project plans, setting goals and meeting targets
Education:
• 4-year college degree in Business/Accounting or related area strongly preferred.
