Description
The Software Asset Licensing Manager leads the Software License Management Team, which is responsible for global management of UMG IT licenses and licensing strategy, focusing on proactive Software licensing compliance, audits and optimization driving costs savings. This position contributes in driving renewals and procurement of licenses and associated maintenance, working closely with UMG Sourcing & Contract management team and Vendors Management Office, and on occasion with Vivendi (Head Office in Paris) or other subsidiary of the group procurement resources.
Job Functions:
• Manage UMG’s global software licenses in order to ensure compliance with the Terms and Conditions of Publisher licensing agreements and regulatory requirements in order to mitigate exposure to financial and legal risks associated to the Publisher compliance Policy.
• Ensure UMG’s asset management solution can accurately count the software license deployments across all UMG’s desktop, laptops and Servers/Mainframes.
• Ensure licence entitlement is captured comprehensively and accurately in order to produce an Effective License Position for UMG’s top Publishers at an Global and organizational unit level.
• Engaging and guiding business to confirm licence requirements and obtain approvals for Software purchases.
• Identify potential cost savings opportunities relating to software and support costs.
• Managing and administering licence transfers during acquisitions / divestitures.
• Implement processes to ensure proactive audit readiness.
• Managing Publishers audits.
• Facilitate the sourcing process with procurement team, assisting in the administering the process for the renewal of maintenance and support for Software Licenses.
• Build a strong working relationship with local IT departments, IT Finance, Sourcing, Legal and other relevant department/teams to ensure software acquisitions, inventory tracking and utilization are understood by all stakeholders and acted upon appropriately.
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• Detailed knowledge of one or more software publisher licence models (Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, including Server/Mainframe base licensing either physical Virtual and cloud instances, etc.)
• Knowledge of asset management tools (ILMT, SCCM, Casper, etc.) desirable
• Highly knowledgeable and experienced in Software Asset Management and Publishers Audit
• Excellent working knowledge of Excel using the advance formulas statements/functions
• Capability to exchange in French language is a plus
• Good management skills.
• Strong in communication, project management and business process analysis
• Ability to translate licensing terms in Publishers contracts/Licensing Agreements for both data collection and technical requirements to meet business demands.
• Proven ability to assess a company’s effective licensing position in order to help identify cost savings opportunities relating to software use and maintenance contracts
• Displays advanced knowledge of SAM tools, IT asset discovery technologies and data analysis techniques
• Customer focused, with ability to anticipate customer needs
• Ability to strengthen local and global relationships with internal customers and external suppliers
• Highly motivated and results oriented
• Strong prioritisation skills
• Capable of working under pressure
Experience:
Minimum 5 years relevant experience
Education:
Bachelor degree in Information Systems, or related experience.
