Description
We are looking for a highly-motivated person experienced at supervising both people and administration projects. The Senior Manager is responsible for the team management and operational supervision of the Global Data Services department. The role will work in conjunction with Global Administration senior management, liaising with IT regarding system software requirements, development, testing and roll-out. Supervision and direct management of a large administration team in achieving departmentally-prioritized tasks. They will have proven experience at developing and delivering work-plans and project timelines with the ability to make the right decisions under pressure.
The position reports jointly to the Senior Director, Global Royalty and the Senior Director, Global Copyright.
Job Functions:
Key Area Responsibilities:
• Global Data Services team supervision
• Line management of large Data Services team
• Communication with affiliate offices and Global Administration as appropriate
• Team Management
• Identifying and addressing training needs
• Ensuring realistic, quantifiable team targets are set and achieved
• Organising and leading regular team meetings
• Running team stand-ups as often as required
• Supervision of special projects undertaken by Data Services
• Assistance with recruitment of permanent and temporary staff
• Reporting
• Weekly updates circulated to Global Administration senior management
• Participate in regular high-level Data Services update meetings
• Assistance with ad-hoc Global Administration reporting needs
• Periodic management reporting and analysis on team performance
• JIRA
• Supervising workflow management of department
• Continued development and evolution of workflow management tools
• Outreach to business where necessary: training and support on JIRA use
• Copyright
• Supervise IP clean-up and consolidation
• Cue sheet marking supervision
• Other copyright requests as appropriate
• Royalty
• Organise and supervise preparation of royalty statements to be processed by Data Services
• Liaise with Global Royalties on deadlines, expectations and processing timetables
• Global Suspense Review co-ordination, training, roll-out and supervision
• Other royalty requests as appropriate
• Other
• Film & TV research projects
• Participation in engagement calls, taking notes and communicating current Data Services issues and project status
• Attendance at group meetings and events as necessary
• Continued development of Data Services’ operational scope and output
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to prioritize and delegate workload within a department
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Advanced Excel skills preferred
• Strong analytical background. Excellent organizational skills. Detail- and solution-orientated. Thinks outside the box
• Ability to meet deadlines quickly and accurately, multi-task and work well under pressure with changing priorities
• Ability to learn quickly and work proactively
• Ability to work well in – and supervise – a team environment essential
• Consistently takes initiative, takes responsibility/ownership of tasks
• Overtime as required
Experience:
• MUST have experience in a music publishing company in a managerial role, having gained experience in team organization, people management and administrative task supervision.
Education:
• 4-year college degree
