Description
We are currently seeking a progressive and creative Senior Director, Digital Strategy to join our team. The Senior Director will be joining a team of high-performers that works to promote the digital evolution of UMG through innovation, engagement and analysis. This is not a marketing, media planning or IT position. This is a true corporate strategy position and the incumbent will be expected to challenge the status quo, reimagine business processes wearing a digital lens, and recommend digital opportunities for implementation. The Director will also be expected to create process around open and transparent communication within the group and externally across UMG and its record labels. The ideal candidate must have a passion for music and an entrepreneurial spirit; they must be process and detail-oriented and intellectually curious; and they must thrive in a high-demand, performance-driven environment.
Job Functions:
• Build and maintain process amongst the Digital Strategy team establishing effective communication across the team as well as across all facets of the UMG organization
• Assist in developing a strategic plan for driving digital growth for UMG’s content across the major social platforms (i.e. Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, etc.)
• Create and present research and analysis that it is easily digestible and ultimately, transforms into strategic recommendations for both internal and external review
• Build business cases leveraging internal data, secondary research and advanced quantitative and qualitative modelling
• Develop forecasts and models to quantify/qualify potential partnerships
• Conduct in-depth study of various digital transformation trends, ultimately defining strategy through study and helping to apply the learnings to redefine business processes and capabilities
• Stay up-to-date with digital technology developments and evaluate / recommend emerging platforms and potential partners for UMG content
• Provide day-to-day support on digital strategy
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to synthesize and communicate complex information from disparate sources into a clear and compelling story that helps key internal decision makers commit to action
• Inherent desire to stay current on developments in digital technology
• Advanced presentation and Office skills with an eye for aesthetics and design that further facilitates communication
• Creative thinking and ability to seek innovative solutions to complex technical and business problems
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Team player with the ability to partner and collaborate with a diverse range of interests and perspectives
• Ability to produce results in a highly autonomous environment
Experience:
• 8 years of experience with strategic planning, market research, financial modelling or consulting required
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in quantitative field of study) Required
