Job Summary
The Digital Promo Services department are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Digital Promo Services Manager. This team provides service, training and support to Universal’s record labels in over forty territories, helping them to distribute promotional digital music releases to staff and media contacts. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of the department, alongside responsibility for the strategic development of the service. main purpose of role
The Digital Promo Services department provides service, training and support to Universal’s record labels in over forty territories, helping them to distribute promotional digital music releases to staff and media contacts. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of the department, alongside responsibility for the strategic development of the service.
• To provide day to day management of the Digital Promo team, managing all aspects of team workflow, daily prioritisations & workload balance.
• Setting up digital promo releases for designated UK labels and international marketing teams, gathering all assets, info and scheduling information as required.
• Provide training / best practise for territories & labels, with on-going direction and support, occasionally including international travel.
• Work with direct reports to help train internal label staff & manage access permissions.
• To set internal deadlines, priorities and goals for the department, with timely revision based on the evolution of digital promo
• To implement remaining territorial roll out strategies for the Universal preferred system (Play MPE), both identifying areas for usage growth & streamlining workflows.
• Monitor all usage statistics of the Digital Promo system and identify areas for cost optimisation & feedback to territories
• Work daily with Destiny Media (owners of Play MPE) to ensure that all enhancements & developments to the system suit Universal’s needs.
• Appropriate issue resolution with Destiny Media, with a thorough understanding of technology & communication back to the business.
• Liaise with Universal US to ensure all content is delivered in a timely manner for promotional purposes
• Work with senior management on any new Digital Promo deal terms and contracts, together with financial analytics of the usage of the system.
• To meet short, medium and long term targets set by senior management with regards digital compliance and overall business cost reduction.
• Work closely with anti-piracy and legal departments within Universal.

• Ability to display leadership qualities
• Experience working within music or digital at a management level
• International experience and knowledge of the different regional music markets.
• Confidence in presenting and training large groups of staff both internally and externally.
• Extensive knowledge of the music industry including the workings of every individual department, especially promotions
• Knowledge of the digital music market, including all new developments.
• Knowledge of audio transmission techniques & security, graphics and IT networks.
• Experience working with artist management and senior media executives.
• Proven experience in handling highly secure and sensitive material & information.
• The ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including creative writing, proposal writing)
• Proven organisational, co-ordination and time management skills
• Sound PC knowledge (including Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint), graphics packages, internet and internal systems)
