Description
Job title: UK Royalty Review and Income Tracking Analyst
Responsible to: UK Royalty Review Manager
Department: Royalty – Publishing
Location of work: Fulham Broadway Main purpose of role
• In depth quarterly review of commercial releases in both local and international markets.
• Analysis and collection of missing revenues across all income sources.
• Review and analysis of global income streams for trend analysis and forecasting.
• Analysis and interrogation of chart, sales and airplay data to assist with royalty tracking and forecasting.
• Detailed analysis of income received from societies, 3rd party income providers and worldwide Universal offices on a client, song and product basis to identify and resolve any potential issues.
• Monitoring worldwide broadcasts, cinema and DVD releases to enable the analysis of income received for Film & TV clients.
• Assisting in the compilation and delivery of key Royalty Review reporting packs.
• Undertaking “Pre-Audits” to identify and resolve any potential under-accounting ahead of royalty distributions.
• Addressing ad hoc queries of a Royalty Review nature including those raised by:
• Clients (or their professional advisors)
• Audits
• Local internal customers
• International internal customers - queries on U.K. income for international repertoire
• Collection Societies
• Resolution of issues and queries through regular contact and liaison with various departments and organisations including:-
• Copyright and Royalties
• Finance
• Business Affairs
• Global Royalty Review
• MCPS and PRS
• Monitor Industry developments in the fields of Audio Visual product, broadcast performance and “New Media”.
• Analysis of income, trends and industry factors to help drive the focus of the department and seek out new data streams to maximise efficiency and income tracking potential.
Person Specification Essential
• Experience of working within a Music Publishing organisation
• Understanding of Society collections and distributions
• Understanding of Music Publishing business
• Experience of working with Mechanical / Performing Societies
• Excellent Numeracy
• Excel (intermediate)
• Word (Basic)
• Ability to work on own initiative and manage own workload
Desirable
• Experience working in a Royalty or Income Tracking department
• Experience of working within an International Music Publishing environment
• Experience of working with PIPS system (or Counterpoint based system)
