JOB DESCRIPTION
Job title: Premedia Manager
Responsible to: Director Pre Media Development
Department: Production Supply Chain Management
Location of work: London
main purpose of role
The role is broadly split into two areas. First and foremost, the end user support required around a new Digital Asset and Workflow management system to be deployed at UMG worldwide.
Secondly, the content provision and management around an information resource website.
Key Responsibilities
The pre-media manager is to fulfil and account for the following roles:
• Main part of occupation | Support Role Asset Management System (New Global Artwork Asset & Workflow Management at UMG)
• in the capacity of a 'Customer Service Representative', CSR for system, end-user business support
• in European working hours and aligned to North American CSR, for seamless US-European support coverage
• in operationally as well as internationally minded, focused and graphically skilled manner
• will be approached and interact a lot with creative and pre-production resources within UMG, but also with supplier base
• with good technical background know-how and communication skill
• will interact with UMG and 3rd party and internal corporate IT resources
• ensure first class end user support experience
• Other required Assistance to Director Global Premedia mainly in areas around packaging/print
• Website maintenance & support
• Initial setup and re-launch phase
• lead by the US leg of Global Premedia, yet requires a lot of engagement with European business units & /stakeholders
• Template facilitation/provision - ongoing
• will require a lot of interaction with US Premedia leads as well as European supplier base and UMG production business
• Design-Help E-Mail Support to business (template and other mechanical/technical related queries frequently raised by creatives, UMG staff and replication/print suppliers) - ongoing
• Adoption/Compliance to industry as well as UMG internal standards and practices, mainly (but not only) in relation to physical goods and related artwork media
• Business analysis & reporting, especially focused on Asset Management System utilization and asset availability/quality/compliance
• Catalogue backfill, ingest & clean-up activities around catalogue artwork assets into Asset Management System
• This will require a lot of 'hands-on' work for smaller scale volumes
• Also planning and execution of larger volume ingest and/or clean-up activities
• Administrative
• Software Maintenance Europe
• monitor IT to ensure continued compliance to and of UMG hard- and software specs in the area of Premedia
• interact with small IT & finance on small and plain studio level infrastructure tasks
• documentation and respective maintenance in context to all of the afore noted activities
The candidate must able to navigate various digital and pre-press related platforms, demonstrate attention to detail and be savvy in understanding project management methodologies.

Essential
Excellent client manner and the ability to take initiative and proactively organise their own work to meet demands is a must.
• Customer experience within a service industry; home entertainment/music preferable
• Experience of media (pre) production
• Operational and technical knowledge of Artwork and Print
• Previous experience in working with artwork files and of the artwork and print production process
• Highly organized, structured approach to workload. Ability to work successfully under pressure and to deadlines
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Pro-active: anticipate and resolve issues as (or before!) they arise
• Self-motivated
• Takes responsibility for performance
• Able to organise own time and work effectively to deadlines
• Very good MS Office skills in particular Excel and Outlook
• Deep print asset reproduction know-how with InDesign, Quark, Photoshop and Illustrator IS A MUST
• MAC OSX based, yet other platforms should be equally familiar
